About the Instructor
Grand Master of Memory. Three-time published author. Creator of BBC1's Monkhouse's Memory Masters. Channel 4 memory coach. Thirty years teaching people to remember.
Mark originally trained as an actor — which is where the obsession with memory began. Learning lines under pressure forced him to find a system that actually worked, and that search took him all the way to the 1995 World Memory Championships, where he became one of the first eight people in the world to earn the title of Grand Master of Memory.
That same year, the BBC commissioned him to create Monkhouse's Memory Masters, a primetime gameshow watched by over eight million viewers. Over the next three decades he wrote three books, coached thousands of students, ran corporate training for Rothschild, the BBC, the ICAEW and Lincoln National, and in 2019 returned to television as the memory coach on Channel 4's Can I Improve My Memory?, working with Gok Wan, Joey Essex and Valerie Singleton.
Memory School is the distilled version of everything he teaches — the same techniques, structures and exercises that appear in his books and one-on-one coaching, now in a programme anyone can follow.
